The Makers Story

In issue one of The Makers Story. I got to write about the process of intentional vs intuitive drawing and how it plays a part in the ever-evolving process of developing a creative voice and drawing style. We also dived into the journey of uncovering tucked away stories that sometimes dream of having a voice in the real world.

Documenting life vs seeking stories (snippets from the magazine):

‘Some of the illustrations I create are inspired by everyday things in life. Like meeting chickens
on a farm, hiking in the mountains or memories of wild swimming on a warm summer day. Other ideas are born differently and need to be gently coaxed out of ones mind through imaginary play and intuitive sketching. This way of drawing requires you to show up without
expectations or planning too much.’

Digital Copies

Personally, my favourite part of the magazine was learning from all the other wonderful featured artists, whilst indulging in the beautiful photography of their works. Issue one is also available digitally via The Makers Story website for anyone who might want to read it.
