The Revival of Irish Storytelling
This is my latest editorial piece for the IMAGE magazine winter issue. This project was so special because the article celebrates the wonders of Irish storytellers through Sarah Gill’s beautiful writing. For the illustration, I was immediately drawn to the idea of illustrating a scene that could represent the story of Labhraidh Loingseach, a High King of Ulster. While the story contains many magical elements, the final concept revolves around a forest scene with a moonlit harpist at the heart of the illustration and an ancient tree in the background. There is also a little twist when the reader realises the significance of the notes that come forth from the beautiful harp.
